Comments: Sunset is at 19:00 at 5.75W. At 15W it should be at 19:37. Sunset was actually at 19:36. Because of the clouds, I had to run the engine for 30m this evening to charge the batteries. It is the price I am paying to keep the fish frozen. I went to sleep at 21:00. I am suppose to tack in 4h (1:00), but will play it by ear. Wind is light and the SOG IS 4.3 at 330. No traffic expected, so setting the timer for 2h. I woke at 22:00 to 19 kt wind and had to adjust the windvane. A little after midnight, I downloaded a GRIB and tacked to port. It looks like I might get light wind by Wednesday. The OTH AIS showed no threats before dawn, so I set a 2h alarm. At 4:30 the boat accidentally jibbed. Not sure why. I reset the windvane. I woke at 6:30. Sunrise is at 6:01 at 5.75W. At 15.5W it should be at 6:40. The sun rose behind a cloud bank and broke through the clouds at 6:51 to a mostly clear sky. The GRIB was 13h old so downloaded a new one. Not many surprises … tack to starboard at 10:00, good wind for 18h, then light wind for 4d. I am reaching a point far enough W that I will almost always be on a starboard tack until Barbados. I tacked starboard at 11:00 with a SOG of 5.7 and course of 320. The wind continued to back and by noon my course was close to the waypoint. The batteries were charged by 13:00 and I made water at 15:00. The distance sailed towards IFN in the last 24h was 1242-1139=103 nm. The total distance sailed was 19810-19654=156 nm (146/24=6.1 kt avg).
