Comments: To make an apples-to-apples comparison, I plotted the courses recommended by PW all leaving Monday. From Rodrigues, it was 16d 1h and 1985 nm. From Mauritius, it was 12d 21h and 1629 nm. From Reunion, it was 11d 12h and 1504 nm. Reunion is apparently off the table as I cannot get a berth. The difference between Rodrigues and Mauritius is a little more than 3d and 350 nm. I woke up at 3:30 to heavy rain. I spent the day working on the boat (raised the storm sail to check its pendant and make sheets, lowered the sailpack and started fixing the chaffed lines of the lazy jack lines, filled the main water tank, etc.) and I did shopping. At 4:00 I moved the boat out of the harbor and anchored in the bay. Two of the 5.80 boats followed me and we rafted, then I took three of the racers to shore in my dinghy as it was too far for them to row in their little inflatable. Saw the fin of a large shark on the way.
